Martin (Guitar and Backing Vocals)

Martin hails from Manchester originally (red side of course!), but like so many Mancunians he now lives in Guildford, Surrey. He grew up through the Glam Rock era of Bowie and Bolan, the Punk revolution of the Pistols, The  Clash, and every other 3 chord rocking rebel, followed by the mod and ska revival, spawning such great bands as The Jam and The Pretenders.

Like so many other teenagers of the era, Martin taught himself guitar, bought himself a Gibson Les Paul (copy!) and formed a band of angry young men (well more mildly irritated really!)

Martin played guitar and bass in several bands, ranging in style from New Wave Punk to Rockabilly, before shelving his axe in the attic, and with it any musical involvement, for more than a decade.

When he returned to playing it was to the more mellow sound of acoustic guitar, but was still influenced by and playing the favorite anthems of his past, which is now reflected in some of the choices in Eden's repertoire.

It was a desire to return to performing that led Martin to the ACM (Academy of Contemporary Music) in Guildford, which is where he met Emma. The combination of acoustic guitar and vocals seemed to work, as did the mixture of musical tastes and styles shared by both, which led to them forming Eden in 2005.
